I just discovered Mickey FORTUNE, aka OH SNAP!!, and you should too...
Fortune's music is good natured and fun, and is successful in his mission to serve listeners a slice of happiness while making the beats banging enough to keep the dance floor packed.
I'm a bit of a waif myself, but I can somehow relate and appreciate his new hit "I’m Too Fat to be a Hipster", with it's right on lyrics like...
I wear baggy jeans cuz that's what comes in 42
I like to dress fly, but fuck it, I like food
All my big-boned brothers, do you know what I mean?
The ladies don't like chunky asses runnin' round in skinny jeans

But my favorite so far is "Bill Cosby Sweater"

Ladies sweat my sweater, cause the elbows leather...
and there's pink, and orange , and brown, and blue...

Check it out...

The theme this time around is "Going Green" ...
This should be interesting... I'm usually a skeptic whenever I hear
someone in the US mention "green this" or "green that"...
There's a LOT of *green washing* going on in the US, and it gets a bit
much at times. By *green washing*, I'm not talking about the do-gooders, I'm talking about those who quickly realized that if they tag the word/color "green" on anything, they can get tax credits and prefered treatment. The good thing about it in the overall, though, is that it *does* get the word out there more... And the more mainstream the words "green" and "sustainable" become, the more mainstream the realities will become... Hopefully!
So... And hopefully the good bunch presenting tonight have something *new* and refreshing to say. Come out and judge for yourself...! See you there !!

Featuring: Norman Smith, Shinji Turner-Yamamoto, Samson Cheng,
ThomasNassif, Honi Borden, Paul Contino and Greg McLellan
